Welcome to ComPAWnions for Life!! A mobile pet care company designed to help keep pets and their owners together!
Why is there a need for these services?
There are 2 main reasons:
First of all, there’s no arguing that animals have always had a positive impact on their owners’ lives… Not only does evidence suggest that our four-legged friends provide a significant health benefit for elderly (and all) people, they also help them to live longer, healthier and happier lives!
It doesn't take an expert to know that pets make humans feel good, however, science can tell us how and why pets can be therapeutic. It’s been proven that just 15 minutes bonding with an animal sets off a chemical chain reaction in the brain, lowering levels of the fight-or-flight hormone cortisol and increasing production of the feel-good hormone, serotonin. The result is a decreased heart rate, immediate drop in blood pressure and stress levels. Over the long term, pet and human interactions can lower cholesterol levels, fight depression and may even help protect against heart disease and stroke. This is why pets for anyone, particularly the elderly, can be so beneficial.
And second… sadly animal shelter over population is a huge problem in the United States that only seems to be growing, with a large percentage of the population at shelters being senior dogs who have been dumped by their owners and/or owner’s family who are unable to keep them once the owner is no longer able to physically care for their companions.
But the sad truth is, that companion was doing something wonderful for their owner and likely, they had a strong bond for years, only for now to both end up separated, scared and alone.
This is why I came up with ComPAWnions for Life…because that’s exactly what this bond should be…for life! By assisting seniors and other pet owners with disabilities in the care of their pets, not only are we increasing their life expectancy and day to day happiness, but hopefully we are also helping control over crowding in shelters, allowing more room for all of the homeless and abused animals of the world to have the opportunity for a 2nd chance at life!
To keep pets and their owners together in order to increase the quality as well as quantity of their years together, while decreasing the problem of pet over population in shelters across the county.
